Liquid terpene resin, also known as polyterpene or pinene tree, is mainly a series of linear polymers from liquid to solid prepared by cationic polymerization of a-pinene and b-pinene from turpentine under Lewis catalysis. In addition, cationic copolymerization of a-pinene and b-pinene with other monomers (such as styrene, phenol, phenol and formaldehyde) was used to synthesize terpenes — terpene-based resins such as styrene, terpenol and terpene phenolic.
Liquid terpene resin is light yellow and transparent. With radiation resistance, aging resistance, resistance to dilute acid, dilute alkali, anti-crystallization, strong electrical insulation and other properties. It is soluble in benzene, toluene, turpentine, gasoline and other organic solvents, but insoluble in water, formic acid and ethanol.
